Accessibility and risk
Mobile phones can provide safety benefits for children and peace of mind for parents. They're also useful, convenient communication tools that often come with features that children/adolescents find both fun and engaging. However, it's important to remember that mobile phones bring a set of unique risks that parents need to know about. Most children/adolescents have their phones with them almost all the time. The most important point to remember is that your child/adolescent is always accessible as long as his/her mobile phone is on—and as long as your child/adolescent is accessible, s/he is at risk. The risks exist in the technology itself, the content it delivers and the instant contact it provides with others.
